Dakwah Entertainment dan Sertifikasi Mubaligh

Menteri Agama Republik Indonesia, Lukmanul Hakim threw a discourse of certification for missionaries. Certification is meant so that the pulpit of the mosque does not become a place to spread hatred and mischief. Those who go up to the pulpit must be selected. Not just people.

Actually this is an old discourse, which has been discussed many times among practitioners, observers and academics in the seminar room of the Da'wah Science. But this discourse has never reached the meeting point, so it can not yet establish a certification system and any agency that has the competence to do so. There are thoughts, religious organizations like MUI, Muhammadiyah, NU, Perti, Persis, who manage. Plus with educational institutions, such as the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Science and Ushuluddin Faculty. Again, these are still unrealized.


Lukman explained, the government accommodated the aspirations of this certification. Become a facilitator for proposals from the public. The government's interest, setting things to something better has become its job. It's just that momentum emerges a discourse of missionary certification amid hatred, dissatisfaction, and ideological political interests collide, becoming unproductive. On the contrary, it includes being a mockery that is not productive by those who do not understand the issue.

Normative Da'wah

Who is the missionary? Does not that need certification for professional services? Is the missionary a profession? True. Missionary is not a profession, it is the way of da'wah. The worship that turned towards the Qiblah. But not a few make it a professional road and worship. They are popular among the ummah, there are also popular on television, so celebrities.

We used to know KH Zainuddin MZ. The method of presentation always fits for all circles. Strict but not angry, soft does not mean weak. Then there is Abdullah Gymnastiar, there are other ustadz-ustadz seleb. Da'wah slightly shifts into entertainment and lifestyle on the glass screen. Being in touch with business side, rating, advertising and honor, da'wah be entertainment. Da'wah felt distanced from its purpose.

Islam is the religion of da'wah. Every Muslim should preach according to his ability, the caller (da'i) for good and prevent damage, (amar ma'ruf nahi munkar). The da'wah verses in the Qur'an, many explain about the duty to preach (QS: 3.104,110,159). Not only on the pulpit, but also in everyday life, in every line of life that is not contrary to the teachings of Islam.

Inviting to do good, to oneself, to family, to close friends, to advise, to teach, to remind, to survive the world and the hereafter is part of da'wah activities (QS: 66: 6).

Writing activities, calling for goodness, as well as da'wah activities. Dakwah bil qalam, its name. Da'wah through pen. In addition, by verbal, oral bill dakwah, speak directly to ummat (mad'u) in the pulpit. There is also dakwah bill of things, da'wah with true actions and behavior.

Allah Swt explains that in preaching must always say gently. That is, there is a strategy in preaching, delivering messages in order to influence (QS: 3.159), so that da'wah material can reach its meaning. Da'wah strategies and methods have been widely discussed by the experts of the Da'wah Science refer to the naqli argument as the main source. (QS: 16. 125: QS: 12. 108)

So wide is the science of the da'wah, while those who are called in the missionary, khatib, speakers, ustadz, shaykh, etc. Those in the pulpit are the ones who get the spotlight, to be certified first up the pulpit. To consider the quality of delivery, not to hate and to abuse. We believe, not all such missionaries. Only missionaries who have been affected by the phenomenon of flood information alone do so. Missionary person. It may not have been learned about the Science of Da'wah.

But something important, besides the material of da'wah, is a strategy. Hadithnya, sampaikanlah (amar ma'ruf and nahi munkar) according to the reasonable level of the person who received it. That's what it is like to preach in Islam.

Dakwah vs. Country

The missionary comes from the Arabic language, with the root of balagha. means delivering. Missionary means the person who conveyed. Tabligh, one of the attributes of the prophet who conveys ilahiyah leaflets.

Missionaries, Khatib, Da'i, those who are called upon to convey the ilahiyah leaflet, in accordance with the capabilities of the religious knowledge they possess. The question is, that ability must also look at other interests, namely the existence of government and state. Intelligent missionaries naturally give enlightenment in life.

Let's see in Malaysia, the certificates of religion are certified, carefully trained by a body so that not all can go to the pulpit and talk about it. See also another profession, in Singapore, a singer was also tested for his competence. There should be a memorial permit. Have to memorize hundreds of songs. Must be professional and professional.

Switch to other professions in Indonesia, such as physicians. Through its organization, strictly a doctor must be recognized professionally. Journalists, advocates, teachers and lecturers also experience the same thing. Certificate of recognition from designated bodies measures the competence, in order to maintain the quality of the profession.

Missionary phenomenon that has weakness, must be realized. More and more when the logical disparity in delivering the message of da'wah, has no new (actual) material, not by an entertaining, reconciling and enlightening method. The credibility of a missionary is determined by such matters.

Now, need the missionary certification? One side, there must be, when expecting social change to be better, because missionary role is very important to give material that educates the ummah. If the quality of missionaries is good, the ummah will receive good teaching.

On the other hand of course there is no need for the certification. Because a Muslim is a caller (da'i) kindness. Whatever his profession, journalists, police, prosecutors, judges, lawyers, lawyers, he should urge and carry out life in accordance with religious teachings (dakwah bil hal).
